FOR THE CULTURE

AMPLIFYING ARTISTS OF COLOR . REMEMBERING OUR ROOTS.

FEMME HOUSE pledges to never stop building a bigger house. And sometimes, to move forward, it’s important to look backward—honoring the past, remembering our roots, and normalizing better practices.

FEMME HOUSE’s driving force is a promise to create equity, amplify the marginalized, represent the underrepresented, and champion the underdog. We believe that historic and systemic inequities have negatively impacted the music and culture we love, and consider it our calling to right historic wrongs by using our numerous privileges to even the playing field with the resources at our disposal.

Today and every day, we regard with gratitude the unsung heroes that have been traditionally cut off from the benefits—financial and otherwise—of thriving in this industry because of the color of their skin, their gender presentation, sexuality, and class. Here is where we celebrate, honor, amplify, and educate. For the culture.

BLACK HISTORY

As a platform that primarily deals in dance music, we’d be remiss to ignore the foundations of what we all know, love, and benefit from. House isn’t just a feeling, it’s a way of life. Dance music isn’t just a scene, it’s a community, a revolution, and a calling. None of it would exist without the black pioneers that sacrificed, struggled, and nonetheless kept surviving, dreaming, and creating.
