This workshop explores the intersection of dance, gender, race, and ability in traditional dance spaces. With a focus on feminist and disability justice frameworks, participants will learn how to create a safe and inclusive dance environment through intentional planning and design, accessibility, and consent practices. Leading this workshop is GeeXella, a seasoned movement organizer with over 10 years of experience in the South. Having worked with LGBTQI+ youth, HIV Case Management and have supported countless organizations with consulting, they will bring their experience and Black feminists frameworks into supporting you on creating dance floors that inspire and create an ecosystem of care.
